World’s Only Ferrari Motorbike Could Fetch $160,000 At Bonhams Auction


Unique Ferrari bike in the world, endorsed, which was built as a tribute to the brand's founder, Enzo Ferrari, the British engineer, David Kay in 1990, hit the auction on April 29 at Bonhams. It is estimated to bring $ 120,000 to $ 160,000.

A British private collector was the owner of the motorcycle for 17 years, during which he showed as a work of art in the living room of his luxury home. Finally, we decided to put his Ferrari 900 under the hammer.

David Kay wrote to Enzo Ferrari's son Piero, requesting to be allowed to build a bike once wear the logos of famous Ferrari Prancing and May 1990 Kay was the answer he was seeking approval to place the Ferrari logo on his bike. It was completed in 1995.

The bike, a Ferrari 900, which was Kay about 3000 man-hours to complete, has a 900cc engine produces 105 hp and is capable of 0-60 mph in less than three seconds with a top speed of 160 mph. It was built from scratch and has a scratch built 900cc, transverse, double overhead camshaft, four cylinder, eight valve unit with magnesium and alloy casings, driven through a five speed gear box.

Two megaphone exhausts double curvature is too beautiful just the engine exhaust pipe gas into the atmosphere. The sound of the bike is like a Messerschmitt chasing a Spitfire, said David Kay.

Bonhams Stafford auction will take place on April 29. A spokesman for Bonhams said: This bike is in perfect condition. This work of art is one of the many bike owners we have on sale this year.
