The Breitling Top Time Watch Worn by 007 and Found At Car Boot Sale at Christie’s


The piece of memorabilia - the Geiger counter watch worn by 007 in Thunderball will be the topic of interest to collectors worldwide pop culture Christie sale June 26, 2013. Breitling Top Time, first watch specially designed for James Bond, was purchased for 25 € ($ 38) at a garage sale, and now expected to bring 60,000 pounds ($ 90,500) at auction.

The watch was worn by Sean Connery in the 007 mission to find two NATO nuclear bombs stolen by the evil SPECTRE organization in the film 1965.

It was the first watch to be modified by the famous Q branch and is equipped with a Geiger counter. Made by Breitling in 1962 was adapted by the art department of James Bond and was the only example made for the film, and is believed to be transmitted by someone working at Pinewood Studios, where most of the film was made.

It is part of a number of elements that are given to the Bonds by the Q was played by Desmond Llewelyn, when directed to Nassau.

"This is a great opportunity for collectors to acquire a unique piece of James Bond," said the auction house Christie's.
