BMW X4 Blends Elements of Coupe and SUV


BMW has released the first official photos of the X4 concept on which to base the new crossover model namesake. Head of Business Development, Idessa Herbert said the X4 will be held at the BMW plant in California as well as models X3, X5 and X6.

In essence, it is a smaller version of the X6, which will use the platform of the current BMW X3, and by the looks of the car is the chief designer responsible Habib.

Based on the first images, we can see that the designs for the front and rear of the vehicle, in part from the latest generation 3 Series, while X4 its silhouette resembles a truncated X6.

The concept is 4,648 mm long, 1,915 mm wide and 1,622 mm high and a wheelbase of 2810 mm. BMW did not specify which engine will be used as X4 series, and we assume the existence of six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines X3 model range.

BMW X4 Concept will be released on April 21, in the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show. As announced by the head of BMW, the production version will be available in 2014. Judging by the success of the X6, BMW X4 will be another bestseller of the Bavarian brand.
