Maserati has released the first pictures and technical details of the new luxury sedan, Ghibli model. Ghibli is designed as a smaller version of the Quattroporte, which will be premiered in 2013.
Although the new four-door Maserati coupe with its silhouette reminiscent of the Quattroporte, with the exception of size, the two models differ in stylistic details. The biggest difference lies in the design of the front and rear of the car. Ghibli has more pronounced headlights and more prominent grille, giving the more dynamic and sporty car.
Quattroporte relative to the lower part of the bumper and a width of the air hole has a simpler form. There are different brake lights and tubular (in Ghibli are round, and the Quattroporte trapezoid) and Ghibli has a simplified design of the rear door.
Preliminary information on the propulsion systems are saying the offer will be two versions of the gasoline engine 3.0-liter V6 turbo, and the first time in the history of Maserati car of this brand will be powered by a diesel engine, also three-liter V6 turbo unit. All three engines will be associated with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the failure to transmit power to the rear wheels.
More technical details on engines and cars peformances can be expected after the official release of the Ghibli, which is scheduled for Shanghai Motor Show from 21 to 29. April 2013. Maserati Ghibli say it will be an important model in achieving the long-term goal of producers is that their annual sales of 50,000 cars.
