Gina Lollobrigida Jewelry Collection at Sotheby’s Geneva

Gina Lollobrigida, beautiful Italian actress was iconic sex symbol of the 1950s and 1960s. His passion for Bulgari jewelry is almost as legendary as his career. Today, 23 jewels highlights of its collection of Bulgari will be offered at Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels sale AND JEWELRY Noble May 14, 2013. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Geneva auction stem cell research of Sotheby's.

"I started to collect jewels of Bulgari in the 1950s and 1960s, attracted by the wonderful expertise and distinctive style of these pieces," said the 85-year-old legend in a statement. Both professionally and personally - "They have me on many trips together and they feel those moments and wonderful people I met along the way.

Highlights of upcoming auction is a pair of pearl earrings diamond Bulgari natural made in 1964 (estimate $ 600.000 to 1,000,000).

Also up for auction: Bulgari 19.03 ct. diamond ring, circa 1962 (estimate: $ 400,000 - $ 800,000), and a combination of diamond Bulgari necklace / bracelet in 1954 (estimate: $ 300,000 - $ 500,000).

The centerpieces of the collection will be in London, New York and Rome before returning to the exhibition in Geneva before the sale. The auction continues with a long tradition of offering some of the biggest stars in the world of jewelry, including Ava Gardner, Marlene Dietrich, Maria Callas, Mary Pickford and Sotheby Paulette Goddard.
